GOLD COAST MORIB

Salam All! May be most of u already know where exactly is Malaysia's Gold Coast. I don't really know for sure why the place is called Gold Coast as it doesn't look like GC Surfers Paradise at all...;) Anyway, this place is really a perfect weekend getaway with family and friends. It is very near to Kuala Lumpur and u can reach the place in less than an hour or so, depending on the traffic. In addition, the price is affordable and u can hve lotsa fun especially with the kids!

I bought the promo ticket to GC Morib at Matta Fair. It cost me RM198 per family which consisted of a huge double bed room facing the sea, 4 tickets to the water park, 2 buffet breakfast and 2 buffet dinner.  U can even go on a school holiday with no extra charge but it must be on weekdays only. Weekdays are from Sunday to Thursday.  I think it is a cheap bargain! Anyway, the accommodation was super fine to me! The room was huge. Boleh golek2 dalam tu. It has a jacuzzi which reminded me of Tiki Village in Surfers Paradise (hmmm..that's a significant similarity!)

We arrived about 3 in the afternoon. Quite late actually coz we had things to settle in the morning. I think it's better to come early coz u can even go to the beach later on.

Just arrived!
Happynyer Farah...
We checked in...

The check in counter.
After checked in, we went out for a while to the food court nearby (about 4km)... Makan seafood ler... Anyway, What's the specialty here in Morib?

Apakah itu? Ha...inilah sotong bakar. Sedap...
RM10 per plate. Ada 2 saiz rasanya...Kecik dan besar.
This one yg besar.
One thing about Morib ni....bnyak sangat lalat la... apa lagik kalau mkn sotong ni...lagikla mengundang mereka datang...U can ask for some candles from the makcik kedai... but the candles don't help much.... the flies are still happily partying at your table, though...ha..ha...

Come...let's check out the room, shall we....:)

At 4, we were already at the water park....ready to get wet!!!

Standby for action!

Snapping the photo...
The water park is not as large as Tiara's n I liked it
because I could easily locate Farah. Kalau tidak...

Other water attractions
Float ni dlm rm10 rasanya...
If u dont have the entrance tix, u can buy it separately.
Of course package price is a real bargain
compared to buying individual tix.
At night, we dined at the hotel as the voucher consisted of buffet dinner for 2 pax. I paid extra RM15 per child for the buffet. The buffet dinner was not bad... With the price, I was very satisfied with the selection. They also refilled the food when it was almost empty.

Bottom: Makan jangan x makan...
Lepas makan sampai buntang, kami pon jalan2 kat luar ambik udara pantai...

Buffet breakfast pon not bad...Oklah lagi dari Hotel Seri Msia. One tip for visitors, if u see that the cafe is full during brekafast, the waiter at the cafe entrance will ask u to go to the adjacent building for breakfast. Don't hesitate, just go.. There will be less people there and it's more comfortable. Makanan yg disediakan sama aja... Bilik breakfast 2 akan dibuka bila ada ramai guest check in the night before.

Kat Morib ni, besides the sea, it is also famous for its kerepek...So, before we left Morib, we stopped by at kerepek house to buy some tidbits for me n my mum back home. P/s: the sambal goreng kering was very delicious. Rugi x belik lebih...

Ada bnyk rak yg kosong...lepas raya kot..bnyk stok dah habis

A few kilometres from GC Morib ni...we saw RPP Morib. Cantik..perhaps next time we can check in here but it's not that easy to book one though...

10 TIPS & TRICKS TO KIDZANIA

Salam semua,

I still have a few more posts before i end my Istanbul's journey and proceed to Rome. Click here for my previous Istanbul Journey!  However, I guess I better write this one 1st since it's still fresh in my mind: 10 tips n tricks of Kidzania. My kids and I went to Kidzania a few days ago since we were having  a long CNY holiday. The entrance fee for kids has been increased to RM60 and parents still pay RM35.  Visiting Times would be: 10 am to 5 pm on weekdays (single session) and 10.00 am to 3.00 pm (1st session) and 4.00 pm to 9.00 pm (2nd session) for weekends and public holidays.  You can buy your tickets online or you can just buy them at the entrance. Even though I was there only once, I guess some tips and tricks for other visitors can be quite helpful, right? Alright, here goes...

Flashmob  by the staff at the opening of Kidzania at 10 am and closing at 5pm.

1. Avoid weekends or public holidays attached to weekends.  The kids will end up queuing most of the time. Each establishment takes time as only a few kids can go in at a time. Most of the establishments accept 4-8 kids per session. So, imagine how long they have to wait for their turn to come [sigh].  Although they have kids’ activities like colouring, singing and chanting while waiting but as u know… 'waiting’ can be so tiring and boring even though with activities. I am not suggesting the kids to skip schools or things like that, what I suggested is, perhaps u can go during long festival holidays like Chinese New Year Holiday. I went to survey the place last Saturday and the Q was short as many people traveled home to their hometown. I even interviewed the workers there asking about the amount of people coming on that day.  As a matter of fact, if u go during a weekday, u will have more time wandering inside the place. If u go on a weekend, u will only have about 5 hours per session.

An activity conducted by the staff for the awaiting kids
2. Pilot is the highest earning salary of all with 15 kidzos per session.

Kids will get 15 kidzos per pilot training session.
There's an indicator like this one at each establishment informing
visitors of the particular activity.
3. If the Q at the bank is too long, just skip cashing out yr cheque. U don’t need money (unless u want to enter the university, attend cooking and art classes, etc), u will earn money! My son didn’t use his kidzos at all when he was there.  U can cash out yr cheque later when others are busy in the establishments.

4. In real life, it is 'compulsory' nowadays to enter colleges/universities and obtain a degree. But here in Kidzania, don’t bother to spend your 10 kidzos just to get an increase of 2 kidzos in salary. For example, the salary for being a surgeon is 10 kidzos. Nevertheless, if u have a degree, u will get 12 kidzos instead of 10.

Bottom: Inside the college.
This is what u will get once u have finished college. There are 3
different types of courses to choose from.
5. I know parents are eager to see their kids venture into various jobs, but I recommend yr child need to be at least 5 or at least they can read in order for them  to enjoy the whole thing. Younger kids tend to get tired quickly and they will end up sleeping after a few activities. There is a place called Urbano House for young kids to play around but that will defeat the purpose of going to Kidzania if u just spend the whole day at Urbano House.

6. Make sure the kids already have their eyes tested at Eye Care Center and purchase insurance at Allianz
Insurance Company before getting their driving license. Once you get your
driving license, then only you can drive at Honda Malaysia Driving Street.

Driving Street
7. Head to the most popular establishments first like the Skyrider Training Area, KPJ Hospital and Fitters Fire Station to avoid long Qs. These are the 3 famous places around.

The three most famous venues around...:)
8. Make sure u and the kids eat heavy breakfast in the morning as u will use up yr energy in Kidzania. And parents too, will burn every calorie chasing the kids here and there. We do not want or energy level to deplete in the middle of the activity, right? There’s a McDonald just next to Kidzania where you can have your breakfast.

9. Food price inside Kidzania is quite affordable if u wanna compare with other theme parks. But pls don’t compare with food price at mamak stall, memanglah kalah…  A box of fried vermicelli is RM4.50 and a set of rice consisting 2 dishes with a soft drink costs RM12.40, cotton candy costs rm3.50 to name a few.

Eating outlets
10. If u wanna purchase the photos at Sony Photo Service, make sure you do it before 4.30 pm as parents will come and ambush the place after 4.30 and the Q will be quite frustrating. A photo will cost u RM20 and three photos of the same kid will cost u RM50. U can download the soft copy on the next day.

Well, that's about it! Those are just my own thoughts about the whole process and I hope u will gain some insights before going to Kidzania. Overall, we had so much fun. Not only that, kids get their precious knowledge and unforgettable experience while participating in the simulations.  Even me, as a mother was so thrilled and excited. How i wished we had a Kidzania when I was a kid!

Other jobs offered there: Dell Engineer, NT7 Technician,
PosLaju Courier Agent and dentist.
Attorney, Fire fighter, Artist (u need to spend kidzos for
the art class) and tour guide.

Sunway Lagoon

Hello all! My hectic lifestyle starts again today. I think i'll take a break from my Europe entry for a while, want to give way to my 'not so long ago' trip to Sunway Lagoon.

My kids and I joined by angah, we went to Sunway Lagoon Theme Park. I brought Bikbik along so that she could look after Faris and Farah.  Apparently, she was so busy enjoying herself and a couple of time lost track of Farah who as we already know, is very fast in hiding from people around her. Luckily, nothing bad happened and we really had a blast splashing time. Faris said Sunway Lagoon is much more fun than Hong Kong Disneyland… Well, what can I say? Kids will always say the latest one is the better one Gingerbread.
Unique!
I booked the ticket online before going.  Typical Malaysia! I think  it is very inefficient if you have to queue up together with the other entire patrons to take your tickets. I mean, we have purchased the tickets online, so why bother queuing up with the rest of the group?  What’s so special of online booking, then? Since it is the school holiday, open up more counters for tickets. They only have two ticket counters. Can you imagine, only two! So, we were stuck at the ticket booth for almost 1 hour. I understand if you have to queue long to play the attractions because normally there is only one attraction each but ticket booth? I think the management may need to come out with some brilliant ideas on how to tackle this problem.
Long queueGrrr!

Welcome to Sunway Lagoon
Sunway Lagoon in the morning
Besides the ticket queuing, everything went smooth. Once inside, we changed and put our things in the locker. One thing I realized, everything is so damned expensive inside.  Locker rental is RM5 per opening, double tube is RM15 and food, I don’t have to tell you about it. A box of lousy fried rice with scramble egg costs you RM10Hungry .  You can’t bring outside food and you can’t go out once you enter the park. So, whether you like it or not you have to spend your cash there.

We started by hitting the Gang Slide. It’s a giant pool with artificial sand and with a marble slide where you can slide down and crash the water.  The place is so huge and personally, I think you cannot afford to finish everything in a day. That is why I only bought two-park tickets instead of buying all 5 in 1. In fact, we couldn’t even experience some of the attractions as time was not enough. My camera was out of battery, so we had to use the hand phone and managed to snap photos. It would be a pity if we couldn’t snap our fond memory there…Snappy
Gang Slide
Wave pool
Kalahari Kids pool
Cameroon climb
After a while at the gang slide, we moved on to the surf beach. I don’t really fancy the surf beach as it is quite deep further up at the surfing area, so I dragged the kids to the wave pool. The kids really enjoyed themselves at the pool, even the adults were enjoying themselves..he..he…  Later, took Faris to experience Cameroon Climb. It is actually a long narrow slide where you have to sit in a tube to enjoy it. Obviously, Faris enjoyed himself very much and wanted to go again. So, he went but this time with my maid as I wanted to buy food for Farah. Time really flies and it was already noon. So, my kids were actually starving.
Quickie Lunch
We ate simple lunch. While the kids still dipping themselves in the Kalahari Kids pool, I went to check the amusement park out.  After a while, all of us were at the amusement park, trying the rides. Nobody dared to try the Tomahawk and the Pirate’s Revenge. Those were something like the ship at Yaohan the Mall. Yucky! So, part of the afternoon we were at the amusement park trying most of the kids ride. There were Wagon Wheel, Apache Pots, Buffalo Bill Coaster and many more. My favourite was Niagara Flume Ride. We rode a log liked boat and entered a very dark snake cave and tunnels.  Farah also enjoyed herself with all the kids ride.  She even tried the Colorado Splash twice. She was afraid at first, but later she enjoyed spinning down the slide.

However, there were a few rides that we didn’t manage to try out as the time was not enough. Farah was the last person to get out of the pool. The last lifeguard was already blowing his whistles so many times until he gave up and went away leaving my daughter still playing the artificial sand… ha..ha… way to go Cha!

Overall, we had a splashing fun time at Sunway Lagoon Resort. Never thought coming here would be so much fun.  Both my kids were already like zebras.  Faris not so much, but Farah’s  the obvious one especially on her back.  I feel that Sunway Lagoon Management should extend the time of operation especially during the school holiday. 8.00 o’clock should be fine, I guess. The place is so huge and there is no way you can complete the whole land in a day. I think you need two or three days to cover all.

OVERNIGHT AT THE BERBER DESERT CAMP

Selepas lunch, kami teruskan lagi perjalanan yang panjang sampai lah petang.  Look at the view.. Magnificent!  We crossed the High Atlas Mou...
