KOREAN WAR MUSEUM

After a hot sunny day at Nami yesterday, the next day we went to Korean War Museum. I had been to Vietnam War museum be4 and I thought it was superb but this one was much much bigger and super fun than the one at hcm. If u r into museum n stuff, do not miss a visit here. Frankly speaking, I can spend the whole day here to learn the history tp nanti ada yg tarik muka kedut plak nanti. Anyway, x menyesallah dtg sini..dah la free..he..he... Opening hours: 9 pagi - 6 ptg..tp entrance pukul 5 dah tutup. Closed every Monday.

Anyway...the museum is large. Very large..a 3 storey building with plenty of army vehicles outside. What's interesting is that u cn go inside the vehicles..bolehla verangan2... cuaca hri ni mendung..so, agak sejuk jugakla. .. sesekali hujan rintik2.

Exit 12. Jalan ke depan sikit, terus jumpa war muzium.

Samgakji Station (Subway Lines 4, 6), Exit 12. 15 minutes from Hongik.
Jom tngk2 sekitar museum..oh ya.. museum ni FREE ya.. dn terbahagi kpd bbrp bahagian.  Another interesting thing about this museum is its interactivity.  Siap ada simulator mcm 3d desperado kat sentosa tu.. lg best rasanya dr desperado... desperado tu I x rasa apa2.. Tau2 dh habis...

The statue of brothers: merupakan 2 beradik yg telah lama terpisah...
Akhirnya setelah berapa lama, berjumpa semula....

Another Monument

Since it's a free museum, so u will see plenty of kids on excursions

War vehicles

Other war vehicles displayed at the courtyard.

Some of the war vehicles that we had played with. Play? Sorry.. can't
think of other word at the moment.
This is a real South Korean battleship (warship Chansuri) that has been repaired
and renovated for the display purposes.  Can u see the dented holes?
Those were real bullet holes.
Inside the renovated battleship. Top left: There were  presentations
of how the enemies (North Korea) attacked South Korea via the sea. You
can see moving ships and explosions.
The belongings of the soldier who died in the 1990s war. Most of
the soldiers who died were very young. They also displayed the
history of the soldiers since they were young until they became the arm forces.

Jom masuk dalam muzium....

This way to the main building..Peace Plaza kalau x silap namanya.

Busts of National Heroes: Those who didn't survive the war

This one was something like the lights and sound show at Malacca

Watching a documentary
Ready for the simulator. The story revolved around a soldier who wanted to
escape. Kitalah soldadu tu... Yg ni mesti masuk...Best! 15 people
per session every 1/2 an hour.

This painting caught my eyes. Vivid!
This passage leads to a weapon chamber (3rd floor). This one tributes to
Vietnamese War kalau x silap.

Souvenir shop
Sungguh besarlah museum ni...x sempat habis semua cerok pon. Lepas ni nak belik souvenir plak...

Expense for this trip:
Subway to Samgakji : KRW 1050 @ RM3.20

Hmmm...itu ajelah... belik air kotak kat vending machine muzium tu dngn dak farah mkn cheese kek kat cafe muzium x kiralah...

Nami Island la pulak...

Salam Ramadhan to all muslims all over the world. Looks like fasting month is here again... maka, berpuasalah kite semua ya... so, let me continue my Seoul story. The next day, we went to Nami Island.  People say it is not complete visiting seoul without going to the island. I'm no fan of this winter sonata series but I still think visiting this island is a must do when one is in seoul. Baiklah, kami bertolak lepas breakfast tp x la awal sangat...Masak lunch dulu, baru bertolak pon... Coz we knew the journey itself would be very long..so, better siapkan makanan siap2...

The first transfer was at Wangsimni. We need to get to Mangu.
From Mangu amik train ke Gapyeong
On the way to Gapyeong, there was this Korean teacher who was very interested in these 2 kids. Budak2 ni biasala gayut2 mcm x penah naik train. Mula2 terkekek2 cikgu tu ketawa.. ingatkan die ketawa apa, rupanya ketawa dngn bdk2 ni...
Double F with their new local friend!
Gapyeong station (top)
Plenty of taxis to get u to the wharf (bottom)
From the station to the wharf was about 3 minutes taxi ride and it cost u KRW3000 per taxi.

The sign to smoothen your
visit
Pintu gerbang

Beli tiket dulu

This way to the ferry
8000krw per pax for a return trip ferry. Kids
half the price.
The journey from mainland to the island was short.  The frequency of the ferry is also high. So, u don't actually have to wait long.
Dah sampai...
My favourite photo of Nami island.
Since it was summer, the view at the island was nothing like in the series.

The 1st thing we did when arriving.  Spaghetti
For today. Simple sngt takda isi. Just sauce n onions.
tp habis licin. Lapor semua
U can hop on this van for 8000 krw per trip
Or...u can opt for the UNICEF train for only 2000 krw per station.
There are also bicycles and buggy for hire. Or...u can just walk to descretely enjoy the beauty of the island.

The all year round snowman
Farah susun2 batu
The song museum. We passed by the museum when we
Were on the UNICEF train.
Patung ni glamor sungguh
kat sini...

Spotted a tame squirrel running around searching for food

Plenty of Picnic tables
One of the traditional homes here.
Tall trees flanking roads, famous scene ni dlm
winter sonata....
Souvenir shop

Inside the souvenir shop
Penat dah berjalan, kami pon singgah minum ABC ala2 Korea... Sngt sedap dan manis dan menghilangkan dahaga.

Ice shave on a sunny day. KRW6000
 Tengah syiok2 minum....tiba2...jeng jeng jeng...

Lalu plak sekawan ostrich ni... Tadi nmpak mereka kat dalam kandang...
Mcm mana boleh lepas entah

Ada yang memerut...

Halau masuk kandang x nak rupa2nya carik saudara
warna-warni kat kedai ni...

Apalah yg mereka cuba lakukan...

Dah lepas minum2 dan panic sekejap dngn aksi ostrich sesat td, mulalah merengek2 si kenit nak naik basikal plak... Hari2 nak sewa basikal nih...adoi...hari ni lagi parah, dngn kita2 dipaksanya naik...
Bayar duit dulu kat kaunter. Sewa basikal kat sini lebih mahal
dari di taman semalam. Ic kena tinggal...pasport mereka x nak.

Pilih yang mana suka...
Tp ok jugak naik basikal ni... Dapat round pusing satu Nami.
Kalau nak jalan, minta maaflah...
Lepas naik basikal...nak main kat playground pulak....Layannn...

Bila dah petang, tibalah masa untuk pulang.... Feri jngn risau. Always available. Tertinggal satu, satu lagi mai.

Goodbye Naminara Island...!
Overall, a day in Nami Island is a good family trip. Kids will love it here..adults too. If u are a die hard fan of winter sonata, lagikla sukanya ke sini...;)

Expenses for today's trip:

Subway: KRW 3900 (return)
Taxi : KRW5600 (return per taxi) - ntah kenapa balik lebih murah, cuma KRW2600 aja... So, jatuh     KRW1400 per head.
Entrance to Nami: KRW8000
UNICEF train: KRW2000
Bicycles: KRW 5000 per pax
Total : KRW20300 @ RM60.00
